UTA Partner Matt Rice Joins Agencys Board of Directors

UTA television department head Matt Rice has been named to the agency’s board of directors, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

“Matt’s contributions are everything we hope for from a partner and a board member,” the UTA board said in a joint statement. “He is a wildly productive agent, a concerned and supportive mentor and a terrific leader. We are thrilled to have him join the board and help us continue our tremendous growth.”

The appointment means that Rice, an agency partner, will have increased management responsibilities at UTA as he continues to run scripted television alongside managing director Jay Sures. Sures, Peter Benedek, chairman Jim Berkus, Tracey Jacobs, managing director David Kramer and CEO Jeremy Zimmer make up the rest of the board.

Rice joined UTA as an agent in November 2002 after six years at the Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann agency. He was promoted to partner in early 2004 and to TV department head in 2008.
