This 4 Hair Hack Creates A Swooshy Ultra Voluminous Fringe

If you haven't already got the memo, hair rollers are back, big time. And they're the best hair hack for adding shape and oomph.

Given the supermodel blow dry, the bounce blowout, the ‘70s flip, curtain bangs and the latest cool-girl fringe update, bottleneck bangs, are all headlining this year, the order of the day, unsurprisingly, is: volume.

But before you go and blow your budget on a spenny hair tool without even dipping your toe into the trend, old-school velcro hair rollers are on track to become the MVP of our beauty stash.

Don't just take our word for it. Top hair pro (and the driving force behind the cord-knot bun), Emma Chen is a paid-up member of the hair roller club. The really good news is, we can be, too – and it won't cost us much.

Posting to her Instagram recently with a short video featuring delicious swooshy bangs, Emma commented:  “Here’s your sign to go buy $2 Velcro rollers …. Our mums have always been ahead of the trends … who remembers our mums driving to work with a fringe roller in … mood [sic]”.

The video shows Emma unfurling a jumbo velcro roller from the triangular section at the front of her model's hair, releasing a fringe that's complete with maximum bounce. And before you panic about getting all tangled up, one single roller will do the job if you don't want to commit to a full-scale blow-out. Easy.

After, letting the fringe down and getting it perfectly in shape, Emma just uses a light mist of hair spray to lock it in place.

And, if you want in on the hair hack, we've spotted large rollers starting from around £4 from Boots, Amazon and Superdrug
