Tenacious Ds New Video Stars Danny McBride as The Roadie (Video)

Leave it to the imagination of Tenacious D to conjure up the world’s greatest roadie — or the road warrior from hell.

In a new NSFW video for “The Roadie,” released Tuesday on Funny Or Die (the song is off the duo’s new album, Rize of the Fenix, out May 15), the D’s Jack Black and Kyle Gass recruited fellow comedic actor Danny McBride to play “a guitar-string-slinging, amp-moving, groupie-groping gunslinger in black.”

In the tour fantasy of Tenacious D’s collective mind, Sebastian — who bears some resemblance to Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister — can do no wrong. As Black sings: “My muscles flex / My f—in’ sweat will save the day” and “Because the roadie looks a thousand miles with his eyes.”

But not long after singing the praises of this weathered man in black who lurks in the shadows fixing guitar strings does he become their worst nightmare — a booze-swigging, deli tray-defiling rock star in his own right.

The video was shot at popular Los Angeles music venue the El Rey.
