On the carpet, the ladies opted for shades of shimmer: Biles arrived in an embellished halter dress by Sherri Hill that showed off her toned arms; Hernandez in a strapless frock with a midnight blue satin skirt; Kocian in a high-neck, turquoise number; and Raisman in a nude-colored number with white floral details.

The Austin, Tex.-based designer Hill is known for making homecoming and prom dresses. Her design career began when Miss USA, Miss Universe and Miss America contestants won titles in her gowns. She shows at New York Fashion Week.

The athletes, along with Michael Phelps, are among the evening’s presenters.
