Nicole Kidman is set to star in Adrian Lyne’s suspense thriller The Silent Wife, based on the bestselling book by A.S.A. Harrison.
Kidman will play Jodi, a dedicated wife who, despite her husband Todd’s frequent indiscretions, continues to play the dutiful spouse. When confronted with the brutal truth of him leaving her for a younger woman, Jodi will not accept defeat. What begins as a tragic dissolution of a marriage quickly spirals into a game of cat and mouse with calamitous stakes.
Billy Ray (Captain Phillips) wrote the adapted script. Lyne is no stranger to the genre, having directed Fatal Attraction, Unfaithful and Indecent Proposal.
Glen Basner’s FilmNation will shop the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming American Film Market. CAA, which represents Lyne, Kidman and Ray, is handling the U.S. sale and brokered the deal for FilmNation to handle international rights.
Kidman and Per Saari’s Blossom Films will produce Silent Wife alongside Lyne and Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan of Mazur/Kaplan Company.
Kidman is also represented by Jackoway Tyerman and Media Talent Group, while Ray’s reps also include Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman. Mazur/Kaplan is represented by Surpin & Mayersohn.
