Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza said goodbye to sunshine and rainbows and hello to misery and darkness as they proved to be the ultimate BFF goals we never realised we needed until now.

Let's set the scene: It was the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles, and Wednesday star Jenna and The White Lotus actress Aubrey walked up the podium to present the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series. But they didn't give out the honour before exhibiting their broodingly terrifying chemistry, which began with them standing silently for ten seconds.

"I don't know why they paired us up together," Aubrey began with her famous deadpan expression. "I know. We have nothing in common," Jenna replied, equally volatile in her delivery. Aubrey added, "We should find the people who did this," before the two recited in unison, "And curse their families and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations."

Now, that was... unsettling. And also pure brilliance. Because if there are any two actresses destined to play sisters in a dark, gothic movie, it's these two. Meanwhile, both Jenna and Aubrey also showed off their style status on the red carpet for the SAGs. 20-year-old Jenna stayed true to her Wednesday roots in a black vintage Versace gown, while Emily The Criminal actress Aubrey wowed in a cut-out bronzed Michael Kors dress. It looks like these two made a pact to intentionally rain on everyone else's parade by topping the best-dressed list of the evening. Job well done!
