Tucked beneath her studio on La Cienega’s hallowed design quarter, interior designer Natasha Baradaran’s experiential shop highlights the tactile approach to home and life that have made her a hit with clients including Heather and Christoper McQuarrie, Luis Miguel and Kate Hudson. “My multi-cultural background roots me in the importance of making people feel comfortable,” says Baradaran. Design consultation platform The Expert — co-founded by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s interior designer Jake Arnold — launched its ecommerce arm Showroom earlier this year. It has now added a by-appointment warehouse in West Adams, where vintage Carl Malmsten, Axel Einar Hjorth and Josef Frank finds tango with Showroom’s made-to-order furniture line, designed by Arnold. A podcast, hosted by Arnold and Jessica Romm Perez, the former editor of Domino, debuts in October, while the designer has also just published his first book, Jake Arnold: Redefining Comfort as well as a line with Crate & Barrel.
